Happy Smallidays Showcase Garden Exhibit
Until January 8, 2023, public hours
Little Mouse sneaks into the Conservatory looking to cozy up for the smallidays. However, there is so much commotion that he keeps getting nudged to the side by the hurry and scurry of holiday decorating. He wants nothing more than for everyone to slow down and find joy in the little things. Follow Little Mouse in this endearing holiday story and be inspired by the heartfelt lesson he has to share. Sponsored by the English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, Waterfield Foundation, PBS Fort Wayne and Majic 95.1.
Santa and Reindeer Saturdays
December 3, 10, 17, public hours
Meet Santa himself and a friendly and majestic reindeer on the first three Saturdays in December. While indoors, enjoy jolly scenery accompanied by the “Happy Smallidays” holiday exhibit. Be sure to visit with a reindeer in the outdoor garden. Note: Santa will take a break from 2:00-2:30 p.m. Regular Conservatory admission applies. Sponsored by PBS Fort Wayne and Majic 95.1.
Suzuki Strings Performance

Botanical Conservatory, 1100 South Calhoun Street
Listen for children of Fort Wayne Suzuki playing holiday favorites on the violin and cello as you enjoy the “Happy Smallidays” garden exhibit. This concert is included with regular admission.
Book Signing with Author, Talitha Shipman

The Conservatory is proud to present “Happy Smallidays” by Talitha Shipman. Don’t miss out on this chance to visit during the holidays and meet the author and illustrator herself!
Through her various picture books, Talitha wishes to encourage curiosity and creativity in children of all ages. Her latest book, “Happy Smallidays” inspires Conservatory visitors to find joy in the little things. All are invited to journey with Little Mouse through the Magical Winter Woods as he discovers the value of slowing down to take in the wonder and warmth of the holiday season. Included with regular Conservatory admission. Books are available for purchase in the Conservatory Shop.
$1 Night Light Display
Thursdays and Fridays, until December 23, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Conservatory gardens in light are best seen at night! Brighten your holiday plans with a visit to the Conservatory where lush gardens are embellished in the spirit of the season. Find yourself surrounded by charming displays with stunning poinsettias, illuminated photo ops and more. Cross gift buying off your list when stopping into the Conservatory Shop and delighting in the selection of trendy and thoughtful gifts. Until Christmas, be sure to take advantage of $1 admission on Thursday and Friday nights after five. Members are invited to bring a guest or two for free admission on Thursday and Friday Nights (5:00-8:00 p.m.) by showing their member card to the admission desk.

Art Display and Reception
Meghan Wilhelm: “Presence” Until January 5
Public Reception: Sunday, December 18, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Meghan Wilhelm is an artist and illustrator from Fort Wayne, IN. While she participates in various local art initiatives, her artwork has also been exhibited at a national level. Wilhelm’s display “Presence” at the Botanical Conservatory collects the body of work created as her senior thesis project. Since her graduation from the Herron School of Art and Design, these animal-themed pieces are exhibited together for the first time! The sole concept behind the collection is to explore the impact and the presence that animals invoke on the environments in which they live. Each piece melds an interest in the natural and fantastical and brings light to the importance of several notable endangered species.

Kick-off the holidays with a stroll through enchanted gardens glistening and glowing all throughout the Conservatory. During Night of Lights, admission is just $1 in celebration of this downtown holiday tradition! Take it all in and be inspired by a heartwarming story in collaboration with the “Happy Smallidays” holiday exhibit. The Conservatory Shop and Conjure Coffee’s Conservatory location will be open to serve. This event is in partnership with Downtown Fort Wayne. Sponsored by PBS Fort Wayne and Majic 95.1.

Bee the Change/$1 Thursday Nights
Thursday, November 3, and each Thursday, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
On the first Thursday of the month beginning at 5:30 p.m., a special Bee the Change activity will offer a positive reflection of self-worth and the potential for positive impact in the community. The November Bee the Change theme is “Do Plants Have Feelings?” No registration is required. The Conservatory admission is just $1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday and Civic Center Garage parking is validated for free.
Cornucopia Centerpiece
Thursday, November 10, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Prepare for guests with this bountiful harvest centerpiece workshop. Join returning instructor and florist Dennis Bowman to assemble corn, pumpkins and other fresh and faux autumn imagery into a stunning cornucopia centerpiece. The registration fee also includes a visit to the Botanical Conservatory gardens. Participants are welcome to bring their own festive accents. This class is designed for ages 15 and above. Reservations can be made online at www.FortWayneParks.org, in person at the Parks and Recreation Offices (705 East State Blvd.) or by phone 260-427-6000 during normal business hours. The registration deadline is November 3.

Paris, France has long exuded romance through its iconic cityscape, art, architecture and famous riverbanks. Over time, a secluded atmosphere of cafes, lush landscapes and carefree glamour have come to define Parisian style. Catch a glimpse of a day in Paris through familiar scenes and playful hues adorning a public square in the Botanical Conservatory’s summer and fall exhibit. It’s bursting with light and love. This special exhibit is included with regular admission and sponsored by the English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, M.E. Raker Foundation, Waterfield Foundation, Barbara Bradley Baekgaard Foundation, Edward M. Wilson Foundation, Majic 95.1 WAJI, Classic Hits 101.7 and WANE 15.
Susan Taylor Suraci: Paris Dream of 2018

Enjoy works of art by local and regional artists on display at the Botanical Conservatory. Susan Taylor Suraci originally hails from the Washington D.C. metro area. She is a 1982 graduate from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Studio Art and a longtime Fort Wayne resident. Suraci is an active member of Artlink and an exhibitor at The Castle Gallery. She is also a recipient of an Indiana Arts Commission grant. In 2018, Suraci realized a lifelong dream of visiting Paris where she stayed mostly in the charming Montmartre neighborhood that was home to many 19th century Impressionist artists. The resulting artwork is on display now through November 13 at the Botanical Conservatory.

Enjoy fall surroundings in the outdoor Exploration Garden decorated in its seasonal best.
