“Under the Big Top” Winter Showcase Exhibit

January 8-April 17, Public hours

Come one, come all to the greatest circus Garden in town! The “Under the Big Top” exhibit opens January 8 at the Botanical Conservatory. Marvel at exotic topiary animals and astonishing plant oddities. This winter, everyone is invited to go to the circus and “clown around” under the Conservatory’s Botanical Big Top. $1 Night Insight: Circus Trivia

Thursday, January 6, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

In addition to experiencing the newest garden exhibit, learn about fascinating facts and the history of the circus. NEW FOR 2022, Conservatory admission is just $1 every Thursday night! Plus, Civic Center Garage parking is validated for FREE! While visiting on January 6, be sure to drop in on the DNI: $1 Night Insight for a fun themed activity from 6:00-7:00 p.m. No registration required.

Winterval at the Conservatory

Saturday, January 29, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Ice Carving begins at 10:00 a.m.

Join the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department and its Winterval partners in celebrating the season of winter. Festivities at the Botanical Conservatory include a live ice sculpture being carved outdoors, an activity for winter bird feeding, and an indoor plant giveaway. In addition, explore “Under the Big Top” an indoor circus garden! Guests are also invited to warm up with Conjure Coffee and browse the Conservatory Shop. Regular Conservatory admission applies. Winterval is sponsored by Fort Wayne’s NBC and 97.3 WMEE.

T’ai Chi for Relaxation

Tuesdays, January 18 – February 22 9:30-10:30 a.m. or 5-6 p.m.

Registration deadline: January 11

Fee: $52

Relax and quiet the mind with the ancient Chinese practice of T’ai Chi. Certified instructor Liz Monnier assists with finding flow in movement and developing confidence in balance and weight shifts. She also promotes healing and internal harmony with user-friendly Qigong exercises. Garden admission is included. Students are invited to take a self-guided meditative walk in the gardens either after the morning session or before the evening session. Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable fitting shoes. Drop-ins are not being accepted at this time. Series subject to go virtual. Ages 18+.
