July 30th Jus Marley Reggae
www.jusmarley.com
JUS MARLEY is an 8-piece band led by Adrian Bartholomew. Born and raised in Trinidad, Adrian Bartholomew has been surrounded by the infectious vibes of Reggae and Calypso all his life. This music flows through his veins and is readily apparent in action. He has successfully transferred the ethnic art form to the tribute stage due to his life’s immersion in the culture as a musician. The band consists of 3 female singers, akin to Bob's "I Threes"; a keyboard player essential to the underlying "bubble" of reggae; a lead guitarist versed in the old blues characteristics of Peter Tosh of Bob's band, The Wailers; a drummer that speaks the language of Carlton Barrett, Bob Marley's drummer; a bass player that has captured the essential lazy sound of Carlton's brother, "Family Man" and of course "Bob" himself as JUS MARLEY’S very long dreadlocked and energetic lead singer.

August 6th Eddie Shaw & the Wolf Gang Blues
www.myspace.com/eddieshawandthewolfgang
When it comes to blues, Chicago's strictly a guitar and harmonica town. Saxophonists who make a living leading a blues band in the Windy City are scarce as hen's teeth. But Eddie Shaw has done precisely that ever since his longtime boss, Howlin' Wolf, died in 1976. The powerfully constructed tenor saxist has rubbed elbows with an amazing array of luminaries over his 50-plus years in the business. Muddy Waters, Ike Turner, Freddie King, Otis Rush and of course Howlin’ Wolf are just some of the greats that Eddie Shaw has played with. Shaw's own recording career finally took off during the late '70s, with a standout appearance on Alligator's Living Chicago Blues anthologies in 1978.

August 13th Webb Wilder & the Beatnecks Roots Rock
www.myspace.com/webbwildernow
www.webbwilder.com
There are roots rockers, and then there's Webb Wilder. Hardly a purist, he has described the music he and his band, The Beatnecks, make as, “Rock for Roots fans and Roots for Rock fans.” In essence: Rock and Roll. There’s nothing new about combining R & B, Rock and Roll, Country, Blues, Pop and Rock. The Rolling Stones and the Beatles proved that it can yield marvelous and diverse results. His critically acclaimed indie films made him a cult hero. His smooth baritone has been used for voice-overs on countless radio commercials; he even did a stint as one of America’s FIRST Satellite DJs on XM Radio for four and a half years. Using all manner of media, Webb Wilder has been impacting Popular culture (and it him) for way over 20 years, all the while maintaining a devoted worldwide fan base through a relentless, never ending tour schedule. Webb Wilder is an evangelist for real Rock 'n' Roll. As a singer, guitarist, bandleader, film actor, songwriter and humorist, he may be roots-rock's only true Renaissance man.
August 20th The Kilborn Alley Blues Band
www.myspace.com/thekilbornalleybluesband
www.kilbornalley.com
The Kilborn Alley Blues Band was formed in 2000 when Andy Duncanson was still in high school, and Chris Breen and Josh Stimmel were barely out. In 2005 Ed O'Hara joined the band, and in 2008 Deak Harp became a long-term replacement for original member Joe Asselin. And in 2009 became a regular member of the group. The Kilborn Alley Blues Band plays filthy Chicago blues, with just a little bit of southern fried soul. The point of the act is to deliver the blow out bar show associated with blues at its zenith. Kilborn Alley is not about youth angst; it is about adult delirium. If we wrote the history of this band here, you wouldn't believe us. Just put it this way; Kilborn has played over twelve hundred shows, and knows how to smile in your face and then kick you in the ass-- musically.

August 27th John Primer Blues
www.johnprimerblues.com
By any yardstick, Chicago guitarist John Primer has paid his dues. Prior to making The Real Deal for Mike Vernon's Atlantic-distributed Code Blue label, Primer spent 13 years as the ever-reliable rhythm guitarist with Magic Slim & the Teardrops. Before that, he filled the same role behind Chicago immortals Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon. All that grounding has paid off handsomely for Primer. His sound is rooted in the classic Windy City blues sound of decades past: rough-edged and uncompromising and satisfying in the extreme. He's one of the last real traditionalists in town.
September 3rd BeauSoleil Quartet Cajun
www.myspace.com/beausoleilcajunband
http://www.rosebudus.com/beausoleil
BeauSoleil released its first album in 1977 and became one of the most well-known bands performing traditional and original music rooted in the folk tunes of the creole and Cajun people of Louisiana. BeauSoleil tours extensively in the U.S. and internationally. While its repertoire includes hundreds of traditional Cajun and zydeco songs, BeauSoleil has also pushed past constraints of purely traditional instrumentation, rhythm, and lyrics of Louisiana folk music, incorporating elements of rock-and-roll, jazz, blues, calypso, and other genres in original compositions and reworkings of traditional tunes. Lyrics on BeauSoleil recordings are sung in English or Cajun French (and sometimes both in one song).
